Smiling over Lily................

I just wanted to write about two things that have happened recently with Lily that has brought me to smiles! Challenging days can sometimes make it difficult to see the many good things happening around me.

I had just returned from the women's retreat at church yesterday afternoon and I was worn out! It was a phenominal time of teaching by Jennifer Kennedy Dean. I so appreciated her love for the Word of God! I was dreading the possibility of it being a "fluff" women's event with all this touchy-feely stuff! Yeah, there was a little touch-feely stuff going on in between sessions, but the teaching time was point on! I don't know if I'll write about what all the Lord spoke to me because being completely transparent on a blog isn't something that is easy for me with some of the things going on in my life. I will say that I purchased her book, "Fueled by Faith" and am already well into it and looking forward to practicing more of the truths that she presents in her book. Anyway, I was really tired when I got home and thought I'd check emails before I found my place in the recliner.

I noticed that Tom put popcorn in the microwave for the girls and while he was waiting he was dancing with Lily. Not just a simple dance, but waltzing! I never said a word because I didn't want to ruin the moment! I smiled! I was reminded that I can easily get caught up in what isn't going well around me and miss those things that are exceptionally well! Priceless!

It carried over to this morning as Tom and I went to FCC North Campus for church this morning. Tyler and Dane had to be at the Lancaster Campus for the FCA focus Sunday. TJ isn't able to attend church for a while. That reality had me a bit sad as I stood in worship with Lily to my left and Sarah to my right. (They normally go to class, but didn't want to go to a unfamiliar class today). I didn't like being sad because Lord knows I DO NOT like to get teary eyed period...let alone in church! I glanced over to Lily and I smiled as I watched her reading the praise songs from the screen as she sang. I know that is silly! She has been reading for a while, but it was the first time we were in church together since she started reading. Nothing can change a mood for the better than to look over and see my Lily singing praises like that! I'm glad she didn't catch me watching because that might have kept her from worshipping!

Smiling over Lily!

So glad to read and hear about the joy you found in the simplest most heart-warming moments. :-) I know it was much needed.
